Spencer Dinwiddie named 2013-14 CFRL Player of the Year

January 15, 2014

OK.

I’m not ready to give Colorado’s Tad Boyle his trophy for winning The 2013-14 Crackers Front Range League title. The Buffs have earned it by going through their CFRL schedule 3-0 and have successfully positioned themselves as top dog for this season.

But I am ready to name CU’s Spencer Dinwiddie the 2013-14 CFRL Player of the Year. In his three games against AFA, WYO, and CSU, Dinwiddie averaged 17 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. But his game is more than just stats. Dinwiddie is the consummate team player who knows how to make his teammates better thought the game and also knows how to step up and deliver individually during crunch time.

I was upset to hear that he had torn his ACL the other night against Washington. I hope this silly award brings him a little cheer in what is obviously a very difficult time for him.

Congratulations Spencer!
