Colorado State 109 – Southwestern Oklahoma State 55
Whatsa matter Larry?
Panhandle State was busy?
Just kidding.
It was a laugher in Moby. But a good laugher.
Because the team came out with a no nonsense approach on both ends of the floor. They defended, they rebounded, they passed, they shot their way to an easy victory. No showboating. No ill-advised alley-oops against an overmatched opponent. Just basic fundamentals.
63% shooting from the field
77% from the free throw line
47-26 rebounding margin
26 assists to 8 turnovers.
Any thought of a hangover from the difficult defeat to CU on Tuesday was immediately dismissed as the Rams scored early and often. JJ Avila led six Rams in double figures with 27 in only 19 minutes. Joe DeCiman had a career-high 15 including 3-5 from beyond the arc and Walk-on Josh Morgan came off the bench to score a career-high 10.
It was all good as the Rams moved their record to 6-3. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if the New Mexico Bowl invite had come early enough to put on the scoreboard.
